I am pleased to announce that the HEPiX autumn 2019 workshop will be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from 14th to 18th October 2019. The workshop will take place at the Amsterdam Science Park Congress Centre, hosted by Nikhef, the Dutch national institute for subatomic physics. Mark your calendars!

We are looking forward to a productive and informative meeting, and we encourage previous and new participants to submit abstracts and contribute to the programme.

Information about the logistics is already available under
https://indico.cern.ch/e/hepix-autumn2019/

The registration and abstract submission will open soon; a short message will be sent as soon as you can register and submit abstracts.

While not part of the official HEPiX programme, I should like to point out that on Friday 18th October in the afternoon, a workshop on the ARC-CE is planned. Starting Monday 21th October, a Security Operations Centre (SOC) workshop will be held; it is expected that security-related issues will be covered late during the HEPiX workshop to ease participation to both HEPiX and the SOC workshop.

HEPiX workshops have been held regularly since 1991 to bring together worldwide Information Technology staff, physicists and managers from High Energy Physics, Nuclear Physics and other science laboratories, institutes and universities such as BNL, CERN, DESY, FNAL, IN2P3, INFN, JLAB, KEK, NIKHEF, PIC, RAL, SLAC, TRIUMF and many other labs and universities. The main purpose of the HEPiX semi-annual workshops is to foster a learning and sharing experience for physicists and IT specialists in scientific high-performance and data-intensive computing disciplines.

If you have any questions, please contact the local organizing committee (hepix-2019autumn-support@hepix.org).

We are looking forward to seeing you in Amsterdam in October!

Best Regards,

Dennis van Dok (Nikhef), on behalf of the local organisers
